Winter offers some of Yosemite’s most awe-inspiring vistas and richest opportunities for outdoor fun. There’s also no cozier time to curl up in front of a roaring fire in a Scenic Wonders chalet or cottage.
You’ll be excited to know we’re offering special winter rates to make it all the more affordable for you to experience directly what makes this season so marvelous.
A Plethora of Enticements
If you think Yosemite shuts down when the first winter rains and flurries start flying, think again! Getting out and about in the park in the “off season” rewards with breathtaking scenery, lots of elbow room, and enormously fun recreational pursuits.
Skiing, snowboarding, and
tubing offer exhilaration on Yosemite’s ample snowpack—check out
Badger Pass,
Glacier Point Road,
Crane Flat, and the
Mariposa Grove for prime spots. Curry Village hosts an
outdoor skating rink during the winter, and, believe us, you’ve never had a backdrop for ice skating like the one you’ll have in Yosemite Valley!
More Wintertime Joys
The floor of the Yosemite Valley as well as the lower elevations around Hetch Hetchy Valley are often snow-free much of the winter, providing hikers with year-round trekking opportunities. In the mid-elevation woods, meanwhile, fresh-fallen snow makes a palette for animal prints: Identifying the tracks of black-tailed deer, foxes, and other native wildlife is an immensely rewarding, almost meditative pastime.
Yosemite to Yourself
Winter’s the quiet season in Yosemite, with opportunities for solitude abounding—even in Yosemite Valley. All summer here at Scenic Wonders, we’re turning potential guests away because our cabins are completely full. At the other end of the calendar, you have less competition for cozy vacation rentals—and a whole lot of serenity!
So take advantage of our winter specials and come play in the Sierra snow!
