Yosemite Falls Rainbow
I greet you from Yosemite
On Christmas Eve, the guests arrived at our Yosemite View cabin with great enthusiasm. Although long time visitors to the Park, they had never spent Christmas in Yosemite. A beautiful family, Oscar, his wife, two teenage daughters, and five year old son Noah.

I had to show Noah the picture I had just taken on Sunday..... the rainbow across Yosemite Falls. His mom had to help me with my new iPod. He smiled and gave me a big hug as only children do on Christmas Eve.
This was my first Christmas without my beloved dad. This Christmas Eve was where I should be. And I was happy to be there. The family was looking forward to Christmas morning; their gifts were placed by the fireplace.
The next morning they wished me a Merry Christmas as they were getting into the car on their way to a day of skiing at Badger Pass.
The Sunday after Christmas was COLD, so the rainbow across Yosemite Falls was surrounded by ice and snow!!
From John Burroughs' Leaf and Tendril
"...to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to find a quest of wild berries more satisfying than a gift of tropic fruit; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest, or over a wild flower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life."
Another terrific day in Yosemite
