Description

Apple Tree Bear House is 4 miles inside Yosemite National Park in the beautiful and quiet neighborhood of Wawona away from the crowds. The house is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2,050 square foot home that comfortably accommodates 10 guests. It is near the end of the road making it very peaceful and quiet. The home has central heating and air conditioning and a generator if the power goes out. Bring your friends and family here to spend quality time together in this idyllic setting.
The front of the house features a 44 foot, 500+ square foot deck that looks across to wide-open parkland. There is a propane barbecue for outside grilling that’s only steps from the kitchen and a picnic table with a large umbrella that provides comfortable outdoor seating. The back deck features a covered gazebo over the hot tub that is steps from both master bedrooms. Towels are provided. The spacious, open living room/dining room/kitchen features a cozy propane fireplace that provides a comfortable ambiance on cold nights. A wide granite peninsula separates the dining room from the kitchen. The dining room table allows space for 6 to 8 people, plus more seating at the bar. The kitchen has most everything needed to cook your favorite meal, including an ice cream maker. The downstairs master bedroom features a queen-size log bed and a twin bed with a trundle. The bathroom has both a shower and a unique, large soaking tub great for both adults and kids. A sliding glass door opens to the back deck and hot tub. The third bedroom features a log queen bed with a bathroom directly across the hall. One of the couches in the living room makes into a comfortable queen bed providing yet another separate sleeping area. The upstairs master bedroom has a Cal-King bed with a gas-log fireplace and a wall-mounted TV. Enjoy the comfortable window seat to read a book or take a nap on. The newly remodeled bathroom has a walk-in shower. A short hike from the house takes you to the lower Chilnualna Falls, swinging bridge, or several swimming holes in the South Fork of the Merced River. Avid hikers might enjoy a more strenuous hike to the top of upper Chilnualna Falls that continues on to the top of Wawona Dome. Wawona is a truly unique place to base your exploration of the world-famous Yosemite National Park. Inside the community of Wawona, often known as the “quiet” part of Yosemite, is the beautiful and historic Wawona Hotel with its tennis courts and 9 hole golf course, the pioneer history center where you and your family can take a ride in Burl “Buckshot” Mayer’s two horse-powered stagecoaches. Wawona also boasts the only public horseback riding stables and one of the two gas stations in Yosemite. Catch the free shuttle bus to the majestic Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias that’s 6 miles away. Of course, you won’t want to miss the scenic 45-minute drive over the mountain to the spectacular Yosemite Valley, or majestic Glacier Point overlooking the valley below. During winter enjoy the family-friendly ski area of Badger Pass, or continue down to Yosemite Valley to see the breathtaking winter scenes and skate in the outdoor ice skating rink. Our Apple Bear tree house stay was amazing. Fully stocked house with nothing to spare. We were surprised with the well furnished kitchen. Hot tub was a crowd pleaser. Great for 6 adults and two kids. Cudos to Pine Tree market, a short walk from the house with everything you might need.

We loved our stay Apple Tree Bear house! The beds were so comfortable. The amenities were great with the hot tub, foosball, and ping pong. Good TV and WiFi. Plenty of board games. The kitchen was well stocked and it felt very comfortable staying there on our vacation. Everything we needed was there. Cute decor. Nice balcony. Beautiful view of the stars. Nice awning, gas grill, and fireplaces but we didn’t need to use them. It was great location to hear the water and walk to the market store. Steve was so accommodating and quick to communicate. He is a wonderful host who cares! Very clean.

The house was much bigger and of much higher standard than anticipated. The village of Wawona was really nice. We loved the hot tub and the games room in the basement. Overall the house was perfect for us as a family of 6 with 4 teenage and older children. We had originally booked to stay at a hotel in oakhurst and are so glad we had a last minute change of mind

The house and location was all fantastic! Everything went perfect no complaints! Mariposa hiking trail with the large sequoia trees is10 min.away,also chiluna falls is 2 min away.We enjoyed the fire places when we were there, had a lot of snow and freezing slush 20 degree days in first week of november, We had to purchase chains for vehichle.Back to the house it was super, and the hot tub was well maintained !We cooked a ton and we had everything we needed in the house. Everyone said some of the best night sleep in our comfy beds and blankets,we all rated it a 5... We had a 40 minute windy scenic road to the valley ,but when you get there it will change your life with beauty Thank you

The rental was perfect in every aspect. We would suggest having dish rags available for wiping up counters and sinks, but that was a very minor detail, and we would not want to take away anything from our rating. This was one of the nicest rentals I have ever stayed in and very well taken care of.

Our first stay in Yosemite and we didn’t know what to expect, so didn’t know if this would be a good spot or not. It was great we were close to Mariposa Grove and enjoyed the drives to Yosemite village and Glacier point. The house made us very much aware we were in a nature park it has a wonderful feel to it. The house also had absolutely everything that we could have asked for and management was readily accessible and helpful. Would love to return.

The experience is pretty good. The house is clean, everything is functioning properly and the jacuzzi is amazing. On Thanksgiving night, one of my friends locked themselves outside of the bedroom and we called the management team for help. They sent a staff member to help us immediately and solved the problem. I really appreciate their responsiveness and kindly help. It was a fabulous Thanksgiving trip for myself and all my friends. Thanks!

We had conflicts with the Ferguson wildfire so had to detour to get into the park, however, this was only a mior inconvenience. The Apple Tree Bear House is an excellent property and thoroughly enjoyed walking to the river for a dip and the hot tup. The kitchen has everything you need and sleeping accomodations are spatious. The home is in new condition and has a large deck for eating / cooking outdoors.
