The clouds rest on Yosemite's Half Dome.
First View of Yosemite Valley coming from Yosemite West along HWY 41. To catch the drama of the late afternoon light on Yosemite's cliff walls, stop at the pullout at the first view of the Valley. On this day, photographers were capturing the beauty of the clouds resting on Half Dome. The shutters were clicking for over an hour. First picture at 4:09pm. Cousin Bobby pointed out the detailing on a van.
...find joy everyday
The
van...with a stuffed animal....wolf pup...on the dashboard...
belongs to a couple who do just that....by photographing beauty as they travel across America, returning to Yosemite often. As each moment unfolded...we had infinite opportunities to feel joy....as the clouds and light dance at Tunnel View. We all had big smiles on our faces...as we shared in the Beauty unfolding around us. The enjoyment of each moment caused us to feel light as we followed the light.
Picture of El Capitan with a bow of light...the Three Graces.......and Half Dome with a bow of clouds across her face....Sentinel Rock...Sentinel Dome..dramatic clouds. 4:52pm Clouds to the west with glorious mists of rainbows. 5:22pm
Last picture at 5:24pm Watching the artistic movement of the clouds....highlighted with the rainbows filled my heart with memorable joyfilled moments. Tunnel View Exiting the Wawona Tunnel.....more beautiful scenery.... opens up before us......no tunnel vision here!!!!
A beautiful bronze relief map of Yosemite Valley's landmarks is located at Tunnel View...the shiniest landmark on the relief map....because it has been touched by millions of Park Visitors.... is......Half Dome!!!!! A closer view of Bridalveil Fall and its hanging valley. From the upper parking lot is a trail to Inspiration Point... 1.25 miles.. and Old Inspiration Point..aka
Discovery View...I'll let you discover why it is called Discovery View.
Images of America, Yosemite National Park and Vicinity by Leroy Radanovich contains historic images as well as gems of information. A picture taken from Old Inspiration Point.....with an old tree in the foreground whose branches were cut ....so as not to block the majestic view. The photograph was taken by Carleton E. Watkins, who began photographing the Park in 1861.
So on this day, clouds added to the beauty of Half Dome......clouds rested on Half Dome. Clouds, evidently, do not only rest on Half Dome's neighbor Clouds Rest. These classic magnificent views from Tunnel View and First View can be reached from Yosemite West within 15 minutes.... Fill your hearts to the brim with joy.....as you look upon Yosemite's rim.
Stay with Scenic Wonders during your family vacation in Yosemite..... and be part of the wonder that is Yosemite. Return home with a lightness in your step... soaring with the birds....no tunnel vision here. JUST ENJOY EACH MOMENT.....FIND JOY EVERYDAY.
Another terrific day in Yosemite.
