Glacier Point Couldn't Be Closer To Our Yosemite Lodging
Our Scenic Wonders rentals are conveniently situated near the road to one of Yosemite National Park’s finest attractions: Glacier Point and its vast panorama.
The route up to this lofty vantage is usually snowed in until May. The start of Glacier Point Road, which accesses Badger Pass Ski Area on the way to its terminus, is just a hop, skip, and a jump from our beautiful accommodations in Yosemite West.
A Spectacular Vantage
The view from Glacier Point is—in a word—breathtaking. It gives you an eagle’s perspective on Yosemite Valley, better than 3,000 feet below. Half Dome is a monolithic presence on the near skyline, and the tiered careen of Yosemite Falls is visible across the valley flats. The High Sierra unfurls beyond, a quiet wilderness of granite crests and dappled snowfields.
It’s only about a forty-minute drive from our lodging in Yosemite West to Glacier Point. You can also take a bus from Yosemite Valley, or combine this shuttle with a one-way hike—on the Four Mile or Panorama trails—so you can really feel those thousands of feet worth of difference between Curry Village and that eagle’s-eye perch.
You can also take a trail from Glacier Point or other points along the road. That said, it’s also worth just sitting at the vantage for a little quiet meditation on the beautiful country rolling away on all sides. At night, you can turn your attention skyward: Glacier Point serves as an equally perfect setting for admiring galactic scenery.
