Description
CUSTOM HOME built in the Arts and Craft tradition. The house and decor echoes with a craftsmanship wood interior, best quality and tasteful design which has withstood the test of time.
From the Main entry, there is a window seat nook allowing a view of the woods or a place to read a good book. In the vaulted living room, a cheery fireplace lights the comfortable decor which connects to the wood-floored dining room. The wooden cabinetry and leaded doors tell of an era dedicated to tasteful wood trim and skilled detail. The flow-through kitchen has countertops selected to resemble the speckled granite so common in Yosemite. A fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and other amenities allow dining on the adjoining deck or inside in the distinctive window alcove. Downstairs is the family room with a futon and another fireplace. There is a TV/DVD, for movie view, (sorry no Satellite). Two bedrooms with a queen bed in the first bedroom, and a full & twin size bed in the second bedroom. Each bedroom has a three-window alcove and a rounded window seat; perfect for viewing the resplendent outdoors. The family room is ready for jigsaw puzzles or games by the fire and includes a mini-bar for that late-night snack of smores. Fabrics in the house interweave the Indian, Asian, and Arts and Crafts themes popular in Yosemite during that era.
There are two and 1/2 bathrooms, one on each floor, tiled with an Indian theme and arts and craft wood shelving. Upstairs is the romantic master bedroom hideaway with its vintage Morris chair and the warm glow of art glass lanterns. The Master bedroom has a king-size bed, its own nook for reading, as well as its own deck, to catch a vista view of the sunset peeking through the sugar pines and spruce trees. With its refined, clean lines, this house is a place to treasure Yosemite. This cabin reflects an era when we had time to think, walk in the woods or be with the people that we care about. Turn off the telephone, leave the computer in its bag and enjoy a simpler world at Ahwahnichi Lodge.

Overall, our stay was amazing. We had difficulty at first finding our correct cabin since all the roads are labeled more or less the same and cabin numbers our repeated, but after that experience the lodge was very clean, well equipped, and very convienent to drive back and forth from the valley.

We absolutely loved the place! It was a great location and I am definitely recommending this place. There was a leak in the kitchen sink, I’d also recommend using 0.5GPM aerators and low-flow shower heads to conserve water and money!

It was pretty hot, opening the windows and fans helped but a/c would have been nice. Also, not having Wi-Fi when Hughes.net and Starlink are viable options is something I would consider prior to re-booking. The home is very nice and comfortable however, we enjoyed our visit very much.

Had a great time in a great house. It was very comfortable for the five of us. In a great location; only a 20 minute drive to the Valley rather than a hour if staying outside the park. The kitchen is well equipped; we prepared dinner every night. Could have used a few more drinking glasses, but it was fine. Beds were comfortable. Management was very generous with providing and replenishing supplies (coffee, aluminum foil, paper products, etc.). And thank you for providing wifi access from your office. Cant say enough positive things about the home. Would definitely recommend the home.

The lack of air conditioning and lack of wifi were problematic for us. The highs were in the upper 90s for most of our stay and it didnt cool off enough at night to sleep comfortably without a loud fan running all night long. Also, we had two guests with us working on job applications. We had to drive to the business center multiple times in order for them to work on their applications. And in fact, one guest missed an application deadline due to the hassle of having no wifi in the unit. Aside from these two issues, the house is amazing and beautiful and in a great location for visiting Yosemite NP.

Great location: close to all attractions, can even drive up to Glacier Point to see sunset after dinner.
Good house keeping: this house has everything we need and more. Room size is good. Wood trim and furnishing very tasteful.
Not so satisfactory: cooling function of AC was not working during our stay (Independence day long weekend), couple of the windows cannot be opened, and it would be better if there is wifi or any kind of mobile signals in the house.

The place was amazing! We were able to disconnect and just enjoy each other’s company. We did wish for one more tv upstairs instead of having everyone downstairs crowding the futon. We also would’ve liked a metal shovel versus plastic. Overall beside those comments, it was a memory we cannot forget! I would love to come back again!!!!

The house is gorgeous. Spacious, well-appointed, good location and clean and welcoming. I did a lot of cooking and the kitchen is well stocked (maybe you could add a garlic press?) :) There was a lot of thought put into the design and layout of the home. It was a perfect location for the family. If I had one other minor suggestion - may I suggest newer towels? The ones you had were a bit rough, but this was a very minor criticism. Thank you for a great week. We hope to come back next spring!
Also, your employees that I contacted (when I sent out questions, etc.) were all very responsive and friendly. Thank you to everyone!

The home was cozy, very clean, well equipped, and had all of the space we needed. The location met all of our needs as well. We would stay here again. The only amenity missing was WiFi orca cell signal. It was wonderful to disconnect but it would have been helpful for planning our days and in case of an family emergency. Thank you for the great communication regarding our reservation and instructions for the house/park entry. It was very helpful. Overall great experience!

The lodge was great. The number one priority for us when staying at a house on vacation is cleanliness. The Ahwahnichi Lodge was clean and homey and we enjoyed all aspects of the house except for the lack of WiFi, which was not that big of a deal, but it was the only thing the lodge lacked.

Great location and high quality property. I am sure it gets said all the time, but not having wifi is very difficult and not something in this day and age that should be the case with a property of this rental value. It certainly does not need to be fast (nor should it be to avoid having people sat streaming movies the whole time), but having none is not good.

Great home for our family get together. Home was spotless upon our arrival, well stocked kitchen, plenty of firewood and perfect floor plan for our extended family. Upstairs master bedroom provided privacy when the rest of the family chose to stay up late.

We loved our stay. Quiet location close to both Mariposa and all the sightseeing in the Valley. The Ahwanichi lodge couldnt have been more perfect. Beautiful, clean, organized, fully stocked kitchen. I like the fact the place is well maintained and located in a somewhat remote foresty area. Enjoyed nature at it’s finest. Lack of cable and internet made bonding with the family more intimate. I just feel bad, when my wife told me we forgot to leave tip money for the housekeeper. We were already halfway out of the park and got busy with the cleanup and packing of our stuff in the vehicle. So sorry.
